um... the ghs export (or the A-MB import) was scaling the model in strange ways when I tried it.

Hi TimB,

Archimedes is metric and scales the model to suit (GHS file format is imperial).

Look forward to receiving the problematic model.

The coordinate system would be a great thing to standardize in this industry. I believe most are using X for length, Y Stbd, and Z vertical. Yes-No? Is there major software out there that uses something different.

I know the GHS export in Rhino will let you adjust it, which is a good thing. AutoShip/AutoHydro uses L-T-V (Longitudinal, Transverse and Vertical) which exports to X, Y,Z.

Any thoughts?

A std system would be great but the coordinate system is immaterial as long as the system understands what is longitudinal, transverse and vertical and data exchange is intelligent.
