Select the center line, from surface menu choose extrude straight, and pull the surface past your sheer. From the curve menu choose curve from objects/ project, now project the sheer curve onto the surface. It will be on the same plane as the center line. This is only one of a few ways of doing this.

Hi annasejahat,

Another way would be:
assuming the c plane we see in your pic is the world "top" c plane, and the vessel centre line is on y=0 (i.e. if you extended the centre line it would pass through 0,0 of the c plane)...

- set c plane to "front"
- project the sheer line onto c plane using the "project to c plane" tool, on the transform toolbar
- voila! there it is. make sure you deselect "delete input objects" or you will loose the original curve.

Tutorial CD for sale?

Does anyone have the "Modeling for the Marine Industry" tutorial CD for sale? I prefer to avoid spending 80 dollars on it and then it possibly sit on my shelf because it was too confusing or for any other reason.

Thanks.
