analyzing 3D hull

I am trying to analyze a concrete canoe hull design. We need to find the stresses to determine the strength for our concrete. I have drawn the canoe in freeship, and we also have an excel file of the points. Our plan was to put export the canoe into solidworks for analysis. However, solidworks can not analyse the canoe unless it is a solid object. At the moment it is a mesh with MANY points. Any ideas?

thanks, Jackie

You can export the hull from Freeship as dxf 3D polylines, import them in solidworks, and them construct the solid body from skratch using the imported polylines as guidelines.

why use dxf???, export as a iges from freeship, if you have that version, then import into solidworks and turn it into a solid, solidworks can thicken a surface and can "patch" a surface if you need to.
