I also sent a message asking for more info and cost. No answer yet.

There is something odd in the notes of files type and transferring data from other systems. It refers to Autokon that was a big shipyard system developed in Norway over 35 years ago. But it was bought out almost 15 years ago by the Swedish system Tribon which was not mentioned among "compatible" file sets etc. Struck me as odd.

In the description of the modules it is clear that it was developed with ships in mind not boats. Nesting, pin-jigs and so on and the site background is a fairly large ship so it should useful for metal boats especially.

    Polarity,
i envy you, i did see that cruiser racer hull but havent found time to try your tips in rhino yet. i know 3d drawing is great fun, in 3d studio what i've been using since its first dos version i know my way around and have drawn hulls like the pic here. in vrml=.wrl (just another output format) as a viewer over the net -using the cosmo player- you can even walk around in a -rendered-drawing (like the artist can) but its hard to sell. as said in the software section 3d studio isnt for designing boats and no way to develop surfaces. i tryd .dwg and .dxf files from 3d studio to expand in autocad without succes. so i want to get into rhino but gimmy some time...

    Jeff,
i got a similar mail from seasolutions, just want to wait opening those 45 day's till i've got some more time, (now having resin on my hands and all) but if anyone has started let me/us hear!

    Sea Solution for initial design

    Alexander
I use Sea Solution not only for final fairing but mostly for initial design. Using plates, and weight calculation functions, I can build parametric model of ship with metal parts, insulation and main masses (special models of large equipment with its own characteristics of CG). It give me a possibilities to calculate mass table of a ships very acuuracy on first stages of design.
Especially it is suitable with hydrostatics module and others (resistance, stress, etc.)

    SeaSolution

    It is really.

    :!:
Second, model in SeaSolution is parametric depended (in ShipCAM it is not).
    :!:

    This is very important.
