| QuestIon about ABS ORY Hello, I need help for interpreting the calculation of SM floor with ABS ORY rules. If I see the figure 8-2 and assume that the length of transverse frame is greater of the length of the floor, is this equation correct ? SM floor = 2.2 * SM tranv. frame * (Pb/Ps) with Pb the design pressure for middle of floor et Ps the design pressure for middle of tranverse frame. Thank you by advance. Jacques |

| Did you try looking at principles of yacht design? they do some example calculations with ABSORY . What's your material ?

| Hello Mike, I had read the book of Larsson and Eliasson, but it seems that the exemple of calculation for floor concern the method ISO : SM floor = (83.33 b lē P)/stress + SMk In ABS ORY rule, the formula is : SM floor = (183 b lē P)/stress + SMk (183/83.25 = 2.2) I had think that the ABS formula cover also the load induced by grounding, but maybe It is for an other reason ? |

| Grounding will be built into keel supporting floors. Isnt the floor Z calculated by CxHxSxLxL/stress or similar ? Are you building in wood-epoxy ? |
