I'm working on a few survey vessel for Australia and I'm having a hard time understanding how they came up with the numbers for shafting.

Its my understanding from the NA for the boat that he would be willing to accept any similar class rule, is anyone aware of a class rule that would require a smaller shaft for yachts then the current NSCV ?

I'm not including the boat details I'm just trying to figure out how everyone else deals with Yacht shaft and strut sizes for Australia and what rules they follow.

As You would expect money is always an issue so I would prefer to try and cut down a bit on the siz if at all possible.

Steve
