| CO2 system in Genset room Quick question needs quick answer. Aside from engine room, is it required to have a CO2 system inside a genset room with dirty/clean lube oil? Thanks. |

| It depends on what rules the boat is being built to. But for IMO HSC Code and SOLAS the genset room would need to be structurallyire protected as it is a defined as a moderate fire hazard. |

| Again, depends. Recreational boats are not required to have fixed fire fighting systems. On boats carrying passengers for hire, the answer is yes.

| Dos it really mater? Once you spent money on a installation why not fire protect it with CO2? I'm quite sure CO2 cost less than rebuilding a fire damaged genset room |
