Windlass specification issues

    Hi Mike,

    It's been a long time, but we are back at boat building again. Just thought I'd follow up on this thread. We did go with 1/2" HT chain, and have ordered one of these windlass. That's right.. the electrical guy has gone for a manual windlass :).

    Good to see you carrying on.

    Those are the sorts of designs on the older coastal fishing boats that we converted to a hydraulic motor. A few larger sailboats too with a 12v or even 240v power pack in the forepeak. Good strong looking gears anyway.

    You'll enjoy the exercise I'm sure :)
