Will this work?

This is evidently a monohull cut down the middle and converted into a catamaran.
I'm looking for more speed more stability and lot's more room on deck.
It is 8m50 long by 5m wide and has two 100hp diesels.

Assymetric catamarans do work, though simply cutting a monohull in half will actually increase the power required to drive it at a given speed.

It will be more stable (due to the increase in beam), though it might not be as comfortable.

If you want a catamaran, I'd suggest you went to a multi-hull designer.

Dunno about those inboard props in the pockets. All the cats I have seen had an outdrive of some flavor. Ask whoever supplied this plan if anybody else has built and tried it.

The boat is intended for professional fishermen, hence the drive shafts.
What I am trying to do is use my existing molds to make a new boat, to save costs.

Cat Hull Design

Hi Geoff,

Have you looked at the Corsair Cat-hulled foiler site?
http://www.corsairmarine.com/0FoilerIndex.htm

With the exception of the inboard engines and minor changes in the shape aft to accomodate the props, it would seem this would be a good jumping-off spot that would require only small changes to the existing tooling.

I do understand the preference for shaft props for fishing. My concern is how successful the pockets would be when applied to a cat type bottom. Has anybody out there seen a cat configuration like this before?
