Wherry style plans wanted

Hi guys. I'm not sure if this is the right forum - apologies if its in the wrong place. I'm looking for a set of plans for a wherry-type sliding-seat rowing boat. I'm having trouble finding what I want because:

1. this is largely an exercise in aesthetics, so I want something that looks good. I have targetted the Annapolis wherry and the Alden wherry as the look I want. These are nice looking boats and about the right size, weight, freeboard etc.
2. I'm after plans, not a kit. Unfortunately the Annapolis wherry (from CLCBoats) is onlyl available as a kit, and I cant find any plans for the Alden Wherry).
3. I want something thats been built before a few times.
4. I would probably prefer stitch and glue as this is my first attempt at boat building.
5. (added later) it also needs to be light, say 60lbs with sliding seat removed. This is because it needs to be car-toppable and liftable by one not-so-young person.

So I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of some plans for a nice looking row boat.

Hi Gary,
I've looked at the Selway-fisher Windrush and agree it is probably a design near-identical to the two designs I mentioned. The problem with it is that I cant find a picture of the finished version, or even find a record of someone actually building it. I tried a web search and got a few hits on people considering building it, but no-one actually taking it on. The advantage of the CLCBoats design is that it is tried and tested, and presumably has any bugs ironed out.

Yes, you are right, that is absolutely gorgeous. However its also heavy. I guess I should have put in my original post that I need something liftable by one person and preferably car-topable. I guess about 60-70 pounds is the maximum - though if the sliding seat has to be taken out to reach this weight then thats OK.

However I've bookmarked that one for a possible second build.

My apologies that I did not mention the weight requirement till later. That design is nice but a bit too heavy.

Hi,
have a look at some of Joe Doblers designs. He was a pioneer of stitch and glue construction in the USA. Just do a Google search.
You may also want to lok at Platt montfords Geodesic Aerolite designs. He has a whitehall style boat with sliding seat that weighs in at something like 40 pounds.
