What's your favorite fixed-keel daysailer 27' - 34'

I'm looking for available design ideas for a prospective project to build a one-off wood-epoxy daysailer for a client who is downsizing from a heavy 54' cruising boat. A custom design from a blank sheet of paper would likely put the project cost over the top so I'm searching out viable existing designs that could be had for a royalty fee. Some criteria are:
  • LOA: 27' - 34'
  • Fixed keel
  • Set up for single or double handed sailing
  • Large comfortable cockpit
  • Spartan interior - comfortable berths for a couple, head (possibly enclosed?), no need for a full galley or nav station
  • Sitting headroom is sufficient
  • Exceptional performance in breeze < 10 kts
  • Auxiliary power (saildrive?)

Please post your suggestions and include a source if possible or PM me if you prefer. Thanks!

I been a fan of this one since day one

might be a little large for our considerations though

not quite sure why that second doesn't pull up automatically but if you click on it you can see the floor plan and profile
thing has almost 1000 ft of sail area and is supposed to be excellent in a light breeze although I can imagine its a handful to get some sail down in a pinch.

cheers

You might want to talk to Tom Wylie about using or modifying the Wylie 30 design.

Tom has a long history with wood-epoxy construction and his catboat design seems to fit your criteria.

Well, I thought there would be a little more response to this inquiry. Thanks to those who did reply.

I didn't want to influence the results with too much info right away and possibly cause a good idea to go unmentioned. Now, that doesn't seem to have been a legitimate concern. So, for what it's worth, the client is looking at a Morris Yachts M29 and maybe an Alerion, which pretty much establishes the genre. (See pic.)

So, with that, anybody have additional input?

Thanks!
