Are you trying to calculate the hull surface SF. Or maximum SF of the boat when viewed from the stern. Or some other surface? Or a combination of surfaces? Due to some very curvy areas it is a very difficult task that is dependant on hull shape. Hand calculation is a approximate answer at best.

Short of cutting pieces of paper and taping them on the hull I have no idea of the accuracy by the non-use of some exotic cad cam tracer program.

I gave my old slide rule away years ago. That was a real hand job calculator. I have a few hulls that could keep some one busy.

Google "Simpson's rules", About half a hundred ways to get exactly what you want. If you really want to get cool use one of Tchebycheff's rules.

Trapezoidal method or Simpson's if intrested in pain. Plainmeter or software if not.
