| wave piercing trimarans design hi all I’m a marine engineering cadet currently studying in the UK. My previous back ground is in mechanical engineering and basic boat construction and maintenance. I have always had a great interest in the wave piercing hull design, but have found it impossible to gain any information or drawings for these. This is my question, does anyone have any information / drawing for the latter? Could anyone help me with the design work on these, helping with the hydrodynamics and stability. I’m new to marine architecture and have a limited understanding but I’m very keen to build on my knowledge and eventually produce a small prototype model and then full size. The hope is to build around the 6 - 8m mark with a service speed of around 40-50knts using inboards with a drive of wither legs or jets and constructed from glass with a foam core reinforced with Kevlar. Many thanks in advance Kind regards |

| there is a really slick wave piercing design on u tube of all places http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxJOJDGchTs heres the embeded info but Im not sure if it will activate here <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/dxJOJDGchTs&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/dxJOJDGchTs&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> the earthrace wave piercing animation is very cool they seem to be kinda secretive about the actual vessel though another cool thing about this thing is they built it out of hemp fiber in an epoxy resin good luck and bring some scuba gear just in case B |
