Water Speed Record Designs

Hi everyone!

Although new to this forum I have a long standing interest in both land and water speed record history.

Looking at the future of the WSR which layout is considered the way to go, conventional 3 pointer or reverse 3 (or even 4) pointer? Ken Warby suggests that reverse 3 pointers work well as models but not full size, why should that be the case, particularly with thrust power?
