trim tab modification

HI all,
in the case of a high speed craft (propelled by ZF surface drive) having a problem with planing capability, because of overweight condition (especially on the stern). To overcome this planing capability problem, is it posibble by modificating the trim tab? what i mean is widening or lengthening trim tab surface area intended for having more lift.

i am quiet new in this field, is there any website or articel that i can reffer to, so that i will have more understanding to this problem.

thank you very much
