| Hey Ivan, I think you are knowing the fast Container Ship projects from Nigel Gee http://www.ngal.co.uk/designs/commer...g193/ng193.pdf and http://www.ngal.co.uk/designs/commer...g335/ng335.pdf In this case they are PENTAMARAN CONTAINER VESSELS. But the solution should be similar to your trimaran. Further information you can get from Nigel Gee's Technical Papers. But overall the fast running Container ships are an absolutely flop. HDW and JIANGNAN Shipyard built for NORASIA fast feeder ships http://www.ngal.co.uk/designs/commer...g254/ng254.pdf Look at the needed power, the container intake, the speed and the lenth of the ship. Compare the two HDW ships for Norasia. The fast ship goes only 3 kts faster, you need the same power, you have only half of the container intake and the cost of the ships are the same. The first Open Top Container Ships designed by HDW for Norasia http://www.hdw.de/index_en.php?level...=Norasia&art=2 were an absolutely success, and the fast running design from Nigel Gee a desaster http://www.hdw.de/index_en.php?level...=Norasia&art=2 Cheers Bernd |
