Top 10 boat designers of the world???

Hello everybody!

I am really curious about your opinions...

Who are the top 10 motorboat designers ever?

I am asking because there is a guy from Turkey who is telling me that a “William Atkin” is among them…

Thanks…

How about 10 top designs of the world. The old ones are kind of traditional, and newer ones more or less made in groups.. lot easier...

Everybody has a different top 10.....

As the late night TV guys have shown, top 10 lists are only good for about 2 minutes of hilarity....

Still

I am still not really one step ahead.

Nobody has a few names in his mind? Come on guys, at least some opinions please.

I just want to know if this Atkins is really such a big name. Look at the webpage selling boat designs for $50: http://www.atkinboatplans.com/

This can't be one of the best boat designers in the wolrd...

And what about this one: Considering you want to build a classical trawler/lobster mix, who would you hire for the design job?

This is really a useless exercise unless you just want to generate interest in looking at many designer's work. What is the criteria? Beauty of proportion, longevity of their designs, innovation and innovation in what area? How abut popularity of their designs among amateur builders?

Sure, I have some favorites but the likelihood that they match those of others is slim.

That Atkin is not a possibility for the list because his plans can be bought cheap is silly.

The criteria is as always success. I am just curious which names will pop up.

Of course you are right, everybody has his favorites, but don't you think that after all there will be a majority top ten?
