Opportunities

Opportunity is knocking for anyone who can build one of these for the non acrobat sailor.

Although Hobie had a good try http://www.hobiecat.com/sailing/models_trifoiler.html it is no longer in production, for reasons of economics i believe.

With all these kids growing up on skateboards and Xgames. I would think there would be an excellent market in the US.
Too many builders are already marketing "dumb" sailor boats. The Foil Moth takes skill and practice just like any extreme sport.

The Hobie Trifoiler has now become a "collectors" boat.

Way cool, to be sure. But if you want to attract youth, as the big carmakers are starting to learn after a lot of false starts and wasted money, cool doesn't cut it- you need cool and inexpensive.
Waiting for Doug to chime in here soon....

I think that they are more likely to be a hit with the Aussies and Kiwis than the US as they do not have motors in them ......
