Does this Swedish hovercraft match the pdf specification in the link from 2000?

Highlights...................

1. Outline seems to start on page 33

2. Page 42; 50 soldiers or one Humvee (which for some reason weighs half as much as the soldiers).

3. Page 43; Stopping distance normal 10x craft length, emergency 5x craft length.

4. Page 43; 1-Metre obstacle clearance (min.).

5. Page 45; Skirt shift/ tilting for banking in a turn.

Looks like it could be the hovercraft below. What do you think? Looks like the right size.............the canceled Tuuli was too large of a platform.

I can see the bow opening up drawbridge style and 50 guys come charging out of there.

I can see a Humvee with it's wide track sitting on the roof, but I can't see a ramp so that it could drive over the wheelhouse, or the propellers moving so it can go out the back. Would you crane it over? I'm thinking that the model which can transport a vehicle would have a flat deck, middle section removed.

50 soldiers weighs about 8500 pounds, so a HMMWV will weigh just a little more than half of that. Looks to me like the forward door is a clamshell arrangement, probably with a ramp that retracts inside, so getting the truck aboard is a RO/RO process.

Thanks for clearing up the weight thing, the spec says something different which I suspect is a non-pay loaded, non-fueled, no driving crew situation one would not see in real life.

With rear view mirrors retracted the Humvee is about 7'-3" wide, so the ramp is wide enough.

The height is another factor, clamshell ramp must dip into the part of the bow covered by the skirt. In fact on a second look I now see a skirt drape line flap running at about 45 degrees downward from the joint.

Mystery solved.

The amphibious corps have been interested in hovercraft since 1990 and in 1998 a bunch of them were bought from the UK for training purposes. The one in your pic is probably one of these although I don't know for sure. I do know however that the decision has been made to purchase four Griffon 8100TD hovercraft for special transport purposes.

Thanks for clearing up the weight thing, the spec says something jumping out of a plane for parachute school in london different which I suspect is a non-pay loaded, non-fueled, no driving crew situation one would not see in real life.
