Suggestion A separate forum for the Option One design

I think a separate forum for "Option one" would be a good idea.
It would make the "Option one" design discussion a lot easier to follow.

Personal reflections...
Right now it feels like the forums have changed a bit over the last few months, with fewer "yacht designers" participating, and more and more amatures finding these forums.

More members and interrested people in yacht design is a good thing, but it might have an adverse (right word?) effect on the few professionals actually using these forums as the threads are answered by amatures with an "I belive" response ( no offense I'm doing it too...).
I hope Mr Speer, Hollister, Ditmore and others in the design proffesion keeps using these forums and that hopefully more pro's will do to.

And a big thank you to Jeff making it all work!

Where these thougts are leading I'm not quite sure...

That sounds like a good idea, primarily to keep all the option 1 design threads together.

The only reason I didn’t do this before is that since our forums are still relatively small, I was worried about spreading things out too much.

Are there any objections to creating a separate forum:
Boat Design - Project 1 ?

I have noticed the absents of some that seemed to be regulars when I started here. I can understand the reluctance of a professional to get involved with Option 1. I also agree with Erik that most of my posts are amateurish, and this forum isn’t just here for my entertainment. If putting Option 1 under a separate heading will help I’m all for it. Jeff, thanks again for a very nice forum.

Trouty,

I wonder how your drive system differs from the Caterpillar drive and also if you had checked it out with Tom Clancy?
