| It sound like you are designing a ship to carry liquids. If so it would be no different than designing a pressure vessel, the density of the liquid times the depth (plus the safety factor) to get maximum design loads. If the "tank" is also part of the hull structure than you have to ad the hull loads on top of the tank loads, and consider it both empty and full (worst combination of loads). This can be a very complex set of calculations depending on the conditions in which it will be used. |
