Showed the picture of the yacht to my lady and before I got to start telling the story she said: "that looks crazy, how does it stay upright?"

I hope whoever "designed" that has first class proffessional indemnity insurance. He is going to need it.

Is the guy in the video a PR hack hired by Northern Marine? He sure sounds like an apologist for them....... Anyway it sounds like he earns his money in some way by keeping in their good graces and is trying hard not to offend his meal ticket. Probably can't make videos without special access granted by the boatbuilders.

Was it the boat? Was it the launch?
    My unprofessional opinion -YES!

The launch trailer support toward the bow was narrow and lacking the support to keep the boat upright when the aft was floating but the front was still held up above the waterline. But the launch did get the bow down to the waterline floating free at only a 10 to 15 degree list. The boat failed to recover so in my opinion it was not fit to float.

The difference between his attitude and yours is he'll get invited to take videos and you won't

It's not clear what video you are referring to.

Can you provide a link to this video?

If it was then it is probably best that it reared its head now rather than later.

Personally, the view that the bow wheels didn't offer enough lateral support seems pretty reasonable.

I mean, how expensive would a set of wheeled frames to bolt onto either side of the bow support once you were already aligned to be launched, which also somewhat cradled the bow (lots of soft padding for that of course), really cost and how much trouble would it take to attach?

Since the 'Yachtvid' guy is who posted the rollover video, he might not be invited back.

Even without the third deck, it doesn't look too seaworthy.

Stretch out the blue parts some at the stern and she wouldn't look so top heavy. Some more hull without topsides at the bow and she'd have looked even better. I just do not understand that overall look in anything expensive that's not a Volvo....

    It's a new slip.

Slips are BY FAR the most common way of launching anything other than small vessels, now and in the past.

9 p.m. Sunday seems an odd time to launch it !

looks like she was fully floating when she went over. the initial heel looks like it was small enough to recover even if it was caused by the wheeled dolly. Perhaps it was missing some ballast?

they are experianced enough a boat company to know if this was an acceptable way to launch to ship, seems to me there was something wrong with the design.

funny how at the end of the video it posted that the company that built this boat is for sale. Perhaps at a bargain price now.
