    Journalis says:

"cette coque à déplacement, doté d'un V très marqué, à la particularité de ne pas déjauger, la carène n'ayant pas obligé de doubler sa vague pour éviter le slamming"

    which translated English, might be:

"this displacement hull, with a very pronounced V, has the particularity to be a not planing hull, it did not have to double its wave to avoid slamming"

5 years have passed since the OP, and the link http://www.smartboat.fr is dead now.
Guess it tells something about the faith of the boat too.

Smart Boats are not every boats, they have been designed by the prestigious French VPLP Architects Firm (Van Peteghem - Lauriot Prevost) www.vplp.fr, also known to have designed maxi multihulls for high sea racing, boats multi awarded also...
Unfortunately, The company of Smart Boat was too small with no suffisent solid financial, suffered the shortcomings of its Turkish subcontractor in a first time (near to bankruptcy) and moved production to a factory in Poland, but it was not enough to face the international crisis in 2011-12.

February 2015, I have been in contact with Hedy Kardous, Founder and Director of SmartBoat, he told me he were expected a resumption of his company by professional investors...

Thanks for that info, HB. I guess quite a few members have lived this or a similar story in the recent unfortunate years.
So I wish Mr. Hedy Kardous good luck and hope that we shall see again his (and many others') nice boats around in the years to come.
    Cheers

Heh ... one of my observations about the Smart Car, in light of the many potholes and expansions joints in American Roads, is that with that short wheel base, small wheels and apparently stiff suspension (IIRC) that it's drivers may need back braces the way that old time chopper riders often do now.

Maybe that's part of how they justify "Smart Boat"? ;)
