Sit on top surf kayak design I have just popped the hull off the mold. Went 3 layers of glass (cloth, mat, cloth) used poly resin just for economical purposes. Definetely some flexibility issues. Do I need to add more glass for stability? Would epoxy resin add more stiffness? Should I use closed cell or mini cell foam into the hull for added floatation and stability? When adding and glassing the deck will this help with the hull from flexing?

Addition of foam core and glass tape frames has stiffened lightly laid up whitewater kayaks I have built and should work for you without adding significant weight to your hull. I have also used carbonfiber yarn with a glass tape covering. Seam taping the hull to the deck should add the longitudinal rigidity needed.

Cool man, thanks for the reply. Any leads on foam core and carbonfiber yarn purchases? Kind prices.
