    Hey,

I am desperate looking for ship curves and battens for drawing traditional lines plan. Does anybody know where to get those drawing tools?

    Thanks for help!

Google "copenhagen ships curves" and a vendor will pop up at the top (I am not associated with said vendor and/or school).

Battens (splines) and batten weights (ducks or whales) are harder to find nowadays. I had my last set of battens (straight and tapered) made on the shipyard in the cabnet shop. I think my group has the only 10' drafting table left in the shipyard.

    Ship Curves: http://www.draftingsteals.com/21270.html
    Spline weights: http://www.woodenboatstore.com/Spline-Weights-Set-of-5/productinfo/835-073S/

I could not find much on splines. You can make your own from thin plexiglass, or some some such material with a consistant grain
There is this site, but it does not look to trustworthy, so give them a call first

If you can find it, pear wood is great material for splines. Make several thicknesses and some tapered ones (thin-fat-thin, fat-thin-fat fat to thin etc.).
