| Mug Hello... Just got home and scanned in some lunch room doodles... I have been playing with little trimarans for speed and thus range - but a mono is so much more moorable - either at a slip or at a dinghy club... Thus the MUG - the RAVEN 14 - very closely based on Nimble Boats PEEP HEN - do a photo search on www.copernic.com ... So - am I completely out to lunch - I think I like it - needs some tweaking and some thoughts toward lateral plane but there is... What thoughts... Cheers... SH. |

| Sean: cute looking design. Beamy is good...y. cat rigs are nice and manageable. What about material? Fiberglass or wood?

| you know...I wanted to put up 'Guppy'... but I thought that I would get nailed 5 ways from Sunday. It really doesn't fit in most normal niches. Still, there seems to be some sympathy here for Fat boats so I'll chuck it up here along with this fine (and plump) design. I have already fielded a bunch of flack for just about everything about this little (9x4ft) design, but I'll let you folks take a poke at it too. Steve |

| Its very nice looking! Podlike=I like it! It'd make a nice rough weather tender/auxiliary liferaft. Check out Ovatek.com Again, looks nice!

| Sorry, I hope I wasn't too rude. I really don't want to steal anyone's thunder and I really do like 'Pico' cruising boats. I hope the previous post will compliment a really interesting design and not detract from it. I like trying to get the most boat for my cubic footage and seeing MUG (Raven 14) prompted me to throw this in as an addition to a "class" of craft that I feel should be played with a little more. | I'll even toss another into the mix: Chugger! I just recieved an email telling me that another has been launched...which make 2 that I know of. (Chugger: 12x4 slab sided false sheared motor cabincruiser for 2 (first one built for $200)) Steve |

| "It'd make a nice rough weather tender/auxiliary liferaft." Actually, I was working on a rather fat dinghy to use as a tender (the hull, called ButterBall) when I started playing with it and came up with Guppy. Still like ButterBall as it carries a Bunch for it's size. Steve |

| MUG - hull - whiskey... Hello... To pied to play with this... Bit of an unsurfaced hull - taken to 7'0" BOA... Bit of a keel - I am thinking of asymetrical bilge keels also or boards... Going to UK on friday - hope to take lots of pics of small British twin keelers on the mud in Cornwal... Burp... SH. |

| Beer makes an excellent lubricant for the thought/artistic processes too! Look forward to the pics. Am interested in bilge keels as an alternative to standard center keel or boards. Steve |

| If you like 'Pods" you might like these too. Steve (16' loa, 6.6 ft beam, draft (hull only) of 9-12"(or so)) |

| The pod would work in fiberglass. Gorgeous design...a TREK BOAT! It's cute and would make a nice little tender/auxiliary liferaft, again.

| What about crazy dinghy sailors like myself? I'm up for getting wet. And, with such beamy boats, I wouldn't worry about capsizing or turtling.
