Selecting design for hire fleet

Hi Everyone,

I am having trouble finding plans / design for a 6m displacement cruising cat /other.
The design is for a hire boat for 2-4 person overnight in enclosed waters.

The “hire & drive” regulations i need to comply with are.
Under 6m (5.99 ok)
Non – planing
Max speed less than 10 knot
Safe and stable

My requirements are
Maximum space (cat offers more space, but i may be wrong)
Permanent 2 berth
Fold down 2 berth
Head
Efficient running costs
Economical to manufacture
Looks like a boat and not a pontoon or box

I am planning to set up a small hire fleet next year on a large inland lake in Australia and have not found a design to suit. Perhaps displacement cats are not a good choice and that is why I can not find any. But they are wider and beach well for a picnic ashore. I am new to this business and can use some help.
All ideas are welcome

Thanks,
Basil

Have you tried looking at Jarcat 5 or Jarcat 6 for your requirements?

Thanks Joz,

It is a good starting point.
They are a nice sailing cat
It confirms that accomadation can fit into the NSW "Easy survey" <6m class.
It could also be wider than the Jarcat 6 as it will not need trailering.
Although i am not contamplating sailing vessels it could be the right place to start searching. All the < 6m power are planning that i have found.

Cheers,
Basil

Basil, its not a cat & over the 6M but have you looked at Michael Storers Mundoo, he posts here as boatmik I think & has easily driven & constructed ply lake/river cruisers that have passed NSW survey & will probably slide through on a sistership submission, if you havnt seen or considered them I reckon they are worth a look. Regards from Jeff.

Searunner Multihulls

Have you tried looking at Searunner multihulls?

http://www.searunner.com/

My friend and associate John Marples sells plans for stock and custom multihull designs, both cats and tris, and he very likely has a design that would suit you, or could be adapted to your needs.
