Well I did compare a 4.1m tinny to the 3.9m cat
cats beam is 110mm wider, but tinny is 200mm longer
cat is 500mm high tinny is 880mm high

I'm reckon thats a pretty fair comparison

noisy, cold to touch, easily damage, no flat deck, low sides,
The outboard running is noisier
Cold to touch in QLD? it was 37 degrees yesterday
easily damaged? Damned near indestructible more like it
They can have flat decks and in the last post I showed the sides were considerably higher than the cat

cant use them in flood get electrocuted,
Better tell these SES guys during the floods here recently
Most of the rescue services, police etc use them

The cat can handle the surf, wouldnt go near it in that tinny boat,
Seems these tinnys can handle it OK

But more importantly, why would I want to?
It would still be dangerous and unseamanlike in a 3.8m plastic cat

i was building alloy boats and the cat we made was similar weight out of 2mm alloy, out of 3mm it was heavier,
amazing, a heavier built dinghy was well...........heavier

Look, I have nothing against it, plastic boats are good for some but not for me
and I would prefer a cat
But I need strong, light and affordable for a tender and plastic boats, like solid fiberglass boats in that size just don't get close.

Now if you could do one in nidaplast or foam core for about $1500 $2000 you'd have a sale.

Clear Images... I remember the floods and the stupid people who let the dam get to 180%
Before releasing a mountain size wave in one go. Grrr

EVEN THOUGH THE TINNY IS ALITTLE LONGER THE USABLE DECK AREA IS ALOT LESS THAN THE CAT,
ACTUALLY THE CAT ARE TOTAL HEIGHT OF 900MM, TINNY 880 HIGH, MUST BE TO BOTTOM OF HULL NOT OFF THE FLOOR,
THAT SURF BOAT WASNT 4M LONG,
IVE JUST HAD A GUTS FULL OF TINNIES,
SEAHULL HAS ALREADY PROVED ITSELF TO BE A GOOD BOAT,
YET TO SEE A SAME SIZE TINNY THAT CAN COMPARE TO IT,
GOOD LUCK WITH FINDING YOUR BOAT AT THAT PRICE, COST MORE THAN THAT AT PRESENT, WORKING ON GETTING A OVEN WHICH MAYBE CAN REDUCE MANUFACTURING COST ALOT,

Thanks.
Do you have a weight estimate on the 3m?
It would be good to have a small model that is light enough to easily pull out of the water and clear of the waves on the beach.
