In my case the owner was looking for a slightly larger boat than his existing 37metre... about 40. I was able to convince him that by keeping the accomodation of the 40 and spreading it over a longer, lower platform he would gain in all sorts of areas... displacement speed / efficiency, ease of movemenat about the boat, stability etc etc....
Even so, I have to continually reign in his enthusiasm for adding more and more
