Rudder deisgn tools?

Are there any computer tools which will give the ideal rudder size and shape for an existing hull design.

This is to re-rudder a 1914 black iron German yacht very deep full keel, massive lateral underwater plane. Rudder was changed in 1950 to a simple plate. Not a good result high drag poor steering.

Wanted to simulate effects and forces, balance, turning circle etc for a given area, hinge point, and foil shape.

Itd be nice if it predicted the reverse performance too. Great wish list.... I know.

Otherwise its rules of thumb, its going to have to be large to bully the boat around.

Cheers
