| rotate a round section or a wing section ? for an 8m tri. a roundish section is going to be much easier to rotate without major shroud adjustment than a wing mast with a short chord. so, in the real world is it better to have a 'normal' rotating mast with a good range, or go for a wing mast that does not rotate fully due to the shrouds ? |

| They can both rotate 180 degrees. The wing mast has the attachments on the forward part or a rotating attachment on top.

| It's only the part in the hull that needs to be round and rotating. If you make the stay's and jib to rotate on a ring you can rotate 360 + degrees.
