Regulations ?

What are the regulations (codes) that can apply to the scantlings of a 50 ft motorboat (non planning, ie displacement speed) to be built in plywood or strip planking, or even mixed (plywood where developpable, and a radius chine in strip planking, which would also avoid widening plywood sheets)

German lloyd "special craft up to 24 m " (79') apply, but give somewhat like a safe (4" * 4" framing, spaced 18", beams bigger than 4" * 3")

ISO 12215.5 a bit better.
a draft including wood scantlings can be found at http://www.nmma.org/certification/te...hnicalupdates/

Is there something with ABS ?
Motor Pleasure Crafts only for above 79'.
Offshore racing yacht, but with no sail and no ballasted keel.
High Speed Naval Craft, but limited to displacement speed speed.

Thanks.

PS: Design only, not intended to ever be built, unless drowning intentionnal.

PS2: I dont remember who complained about Fexas "midnight lace" boats widening and "heaviering", but there are other light and narrow planning/semi planning boats with moderate power.

Regulations.

A bit more.
HSNC code may apply on speed criteria, but has nothing for wood structure.

Is there more recent code than ISO 12215-6:2001 ? this release has only FRP and metal details.

Thanks for answering.

François.
