Take a sailboard, cut it down the middle and you have two amas. A guy in CA built a tri this way, used a big sailboard for a main hull, split a smaller one for the amas and it worked pretty well.

I put a 2.5 horse ob on my wa'apa canoe it works wonderfully

yes i have seen the thread, very informative and inspiring.

2.5 is a lot of power for a wa'apa canoe. of course it is always good to have extra power when going against currents and such. some how i have an attraction to e-motors, the silence, the clean air, but the batteries load... maybe i have to wait a few years hoping it will improve much

sounds like a practical and easy solution. i think i want something a bit bigger than that so it is a bit too small. on my canoe i just used 2 pvc pipes and it also works well. i am sure a more hydrodynamic shape would have been better but it is an easy and cheap solution.

since i am also a wave surfer (not as good as the guys in Hawaii) i am not sure i can find it in my heart to cut surf board.
