Prop shaft vibration

I'm doing some research into this subject I know the basics pretty well just wonding if anyone here may have some info on determaning causes with the use of a of a vibration meter. Is there a base of data one could use to help perdict cause and effect? most of what I have found deals with industrial, and large ship vibration, I'm looking more at mid size sport fish type craft.
