    Totally gorgeous boat.
    A true classic.

Much nicer than the Riva; slimmer with a slight reverse sheer.
I'm not keen on the massive tumblehome on the Riva with it's much 'fatter' hull shape.

What speed does she get up on the plane at?

Thanks! I don't think we have ever really paid attention to when she gets up on plane--she's pretty quick. Theoretically, she is up on plane at about 11 knots, if not a bit sooner. But there is also a 24' version that Cherubini built from a bastardized 20, and when they brought it down here for me to run, I was very impressed with her pick-up. She had a Mercruiser 496 cu.in. V-8 at 375 HP and 5,000 RPM connected to a standard Bravo I outdrive--throw the hammer down, and literally, within half a second, she jumped right up and ran off--none of this run up to speed stuff--I was quite impressed!

This is the boat I lived on for many years. My Dad converted(rescued) it from and oil crew boat to our home with a little help from the rest of us:
PS--Forgot to mention that before it was an oil crew boat in Nahleans, it was a 47' Grebe power yacht.

Much better than most modern planing boats that fall off the plane at 17kts,
which begs the question 'how do you slow down when it gets choppy?'

I once went on a run on a qenuine Riva in the south of France.
This guy was hitting off my sister, so invited us down to have a run on the boat; I was the rasberry 'three makes a crowd', but hey who cares when you get go on a Riva.....

Assessment: Disappointed!!!! Didn't live up to the hype.

Here's a water taxi from Venice Italy, and how they get a planing hull to plane at slow speed.....

But how on earth do they get that curved 'bump' with wood, under the bow?

Of course I'm biased, but I think the older design not only holds up but has nicer lines than the newer design.
The sweeping sheer and the way the back of the flybridge continues the lines of the aft bulkhead, to my eye just flow better than the newer model.

She's on plane at 13knts with 200 HP.
