Hey Y'all,

Per my 11-29-2008 reply (in another topic, REF: AquaSub). I was unable to access the old PopularLink.com web page. So I am posting a pic & pdf file of the drawen plans that I bought back in May of 2004. Reveiwing issues of; The Mother Earth News, Popular Science, & Popular Mechanics... I was unable to locate any of the adverts (once printed) for this info package. *** If you find me in error, please inform me so (or a board moderator). And this topic could be modified or removed as to avoid © troubles. ***

If you want (either of) the old addresses to make an inquiry yourself... just ask. And it may be pm'd (or as reply) to you. I added a copy of the original invoice as the last page... but the address in not very clear. I do hope that the pdf file is workable for all. My skills (again) do not shine for me.

Heed the warning on the cover page. I submit the pdf for archive and nastalgia purposes only. Please forgive any spelling errors also . There may be collectors in our midst who may want it just for "grins & giggles".

Not being a diver, myself, think I will not likly build a "PowerSub". But, I did consider it at one time. What do "you" members think?

To-date, not counting my viewing, 118 times this posting has been viewed. But not a single reply nor remark. Yet the pdf file has been viewed 51 times. Please do not take these comments as a complaint, for I am glad I was able to contribute to the group. Even if in a small way.

If others have simular "collectable" drawings/plans available, it could be of interest to others and myself. Such as the milk jug "battleship" raft that I also posted (else-where) in the forums. Items that are not available via VintageProjects(.com), that is. Sorry, and my appologies, to any non-English persons. My spelling & useage of slang words may hinder translations.

My attempts to ensure that the "PowerSub" postings were not in violation of any © nor TM are completed. I was unable to (online) find a seller. Legal or not. Locating an old print-out of the original online order page, I was unable to visit the site.

Safty-Safty-Safty (after production), is Wal-Mart's slogan for their employees. But not mine. Always Safty First -- Fun Will Follow. I like that one. Please also remember, "collectable" plans are just that. If you do decide to make use of the plans/designs, then you also take on any-&-all risk, liabilities, & burdens upon yourself.

If you have no diving experience, then I would agree with your decission

The question? I guess that would be more than a couple of things. a) Was I the only member here to actually buy the plans (per-say)? b) Has any one actually built or seen a built unit? c) For those who have way more savy I, is this actually a do-able & functional design? d) Per this design, would the window seal & upper shell actually hold-up to the stress placed upon it? Sorry, maybe I got a tad carried away there.

But, I do thank you for the vote of "sanity". In reguards to not building & useing the craft... due to my lack of experience. This project goes well beyond the basic skills needed to built a generic "glue & paint" home-made jon-boat / row-boat.

Hope this reply has more aptly expressed and clearified my concerns. I am not a word-smith, and my spelling & grammer are below par. So, please, bear with me if my wording seems a bit akward. I mean no dis-respect to anyone.

Yes, I believe the design to be sound but I would not build one.

Have you tried Googling it?

Maybe you could find someone who has built and used the design.

Surely someone has. Maybe you could even find one for sale.

I hate to discourage you. How about getting SCUBA certified first?

Even going to your local dive shop may give you some insight into

the contraption. It may be the currents where you are are too strong

to even consider the use of such a vehicle.

I would look at what you really want out of your underwater experience

and go from there.

Thanks for posting the plans, just took a look at them. I'm not sure I see the utility in this vessel; it's essentially a large face mask for SCUBA diving, however with the added dangers of poor egress, battery offgassing and limited vision. An underwater sled would thus provide much more utility and safety. I would consider it less of a personal submarine and more of a propelled diving bell.
