There was a boat, Transporter or something like that which used a jet ski locked into place. The bow of the ski was locked into place, otherwise it had a tendency to dive under the boat during acceleration. I rode on one about ten years ago and the boat was about 14 or 15 feet and you sat on the jet ski to drive it. You might find the best position for your ski and build the female section in the form of the ski, that is how the other boats were made and at least pin the boat at three points with some arrangement.....good idea and good luck with it!

| Post # 3 in this thread provides a link to what you are probably describing, the "shuttle craft. I'm sure it isn't perfect, I'm sure Eric will tweak it some more, but as far as projects I have seen discussed and documented here, this project is an A+. Steve Quote:

honestly the pon-doo works great but it needs a big jet ski so its not for every one . So i came up with a plan B Pon-Doo II ![]() i will use more composite materiel , smaller and lighter . I'm just not shure if i should use aluminium ''standard style'' pontoon or catamaran ''fiber glass'' style what do you think ?

The shuttle craft seems to work very well, I actually saw one once on Biscayne Bay and it was running quite nicely. Perhaps use that size and weight as a baseline if you want to improve performance. Unless you have a long haul to where you want to anchor up and party I think 10 knots is great, like in Sailboats, the party starts as soon as you leave the dock and doesn't end until you return, so who cares how fast you go? I did find 2 for sale on e-bay with PWC's and I saw several more on Boat Trader. Steve

I sold my SeaRay SeaRyder Jet boat, thought about fitting it into a larger barge but never found pontoons cheap enough. Seems you could do it with any smaller motor craft and push a houseboat/partybarge. Work out the bugs and tell us about it! And thanks, it was the Shuttle Craft.
