Pirate ship Blue Plan?

Hi, it is been a while since I started a thread. Truthfully, I was offered a lotta free lumber and had this crazy idea of getting rid of it by building myself a pirate ship, it may take a while to sail it due to the length of the project but would be a splash to park it next to my neighbour.

What I need is really old experience forum member advice and any direction I can get of old pirate ship blue plan... for the moment and see if it is viable to liesurely built one.

Well I have almost all the wooden tools and machine ready and labour standby just the cause to built one... is it justify to pamper the idea?

Cheers

What I mean is the type of wooden pirate ship you see in the movee... not the modern full geared and dangerous type. I just need direction to the old construction plan or I still need to purchase it?

I didn't know that pirates had special ships built for them, I thought they just stole other people's ships and stuck the Jolly Roger on 'em.

Weekender/Vacationer hulls make good starting points. A bit of creative illusionary to go along with it and Voila!...Some swashbuckling is afoot!

Theres one here --just what your looking for --straight out of a pirate movie.

Its on the hard at Wave masters. I think it was given to the Prime minister of Malaysia. He doesnt take it out or anything. Im sure he doesnt even want it. Its been there for Oh,-- 5 years now.

About 45 foot,-- big bows and a very decorative stern with a cabin for the captain,-- just the job.

60' LOD / 75' LOA William Garden

This William Garden design?

60' LOD / 75' LOA William Garden
Topsail Schooner, 1986

I mean... nice boat but not really wicked looking boat... Mmmm... need a more nasty design. I am not familiar with old design try to look in the wrong places maybe. Smithsonian have blue print of this sort for sale?

Approx. 1000 cubic of no paper work lumber is doom for the pulp mill...

Interesting!
My kids are great fans of "Kaptein Sabeltann" and I think you just showed an image of his boat, now in Kristiansand, Norway...
Den Sorte Dame (Black Lady).

Yeah what about the Bughis in Indonesia. The original boogey men.
Quote:
A Bughi prow plies the waters near the island of Timor, Indonesia. These prows have been used for generations to trade goods throughout the islands. Traditionally they did not have a motor and they would sail them until the sank and then build another. The Bughis were a people that were renowned for their sailing and feared as pirates. Whenever you had a heavy load, you would always keep and eye out for the Bughi men. Today, these ships are still used, but are being replaced by modern cargo vessels.
