Personal recreation underwater vehicle

I just finished that Industrial Design school too last year, here in Montreal
Personal submarine... my project failed because of that intelectual proprety problems with school, the company involved an of course, me... everybody here want's all for free and I'm just tierd of all this.

Applying alternative free energy to a submarine will be a bit of a challenge. Obviously it is difficult to collect solar and wind energy during a dive. I guess you could store alternative energy on the surface for use during a dive.

It will also be necessary to make the sub as efficient as possible. One option would be to use Karl Stanley's "Controlled by Buoyancy Underwater Glider" approach. http://www.stanleysubmarines.com/

Karl uses compressed air to control buoyancy, but you could also pump sea water into and out of the ballast tanks to control your buoyancy. Since water pumps are more efficient than air compressors this should be more efficient, but the structural weight of the ballast tanks will increase due to the pressure differential on them. You could use batteries to drive the pumps or you might be able to use human power.
