The only problem is that her is king of difficult to install an iboard engine do yo know if it is possible to intall multiple outboard motors on a yacht (sportfish or cat...) between 45 and 65 feet long. COuld you put links and examples if you got.

Thanks.

Sure - the Intrepid 47 comes to mind:

Why is it difficult to install inboards in Peru? How about out drives? Two 550 HP diesel out drives on an Intrepid would be much more economical and probably faster without the extra two legs dragging in the water. The Mercury 275's are 20k apiece, before controls, so that's 80k. I can pick up two 500 HP Cummins right now for about 50.

isn't the main feature of the Intrepid 47 that you easily go on

less than all four motors and trim the others up out of the water?

The first story said something about 'cruising at 50+ or fishing at 0.8 gph'.

I assume the 0.8gph is on one motor.

Wouldn't the Speed VS GPH spreadsheet for the Intrepid 47 need a few more pages, for various combos of # of motors in the water?

What would be better, two inner motors or just two outer motors?

What would be better is the dramatically reduced drag of a single drive leg of the HP required to hit their target S/L. Having 4 legs in the water is just silly. On a vessel this size 2 can be justified and one is the optimum.
