Boston,

keep one of these wheelhouse doors (if not both), you otherwise will damn the day you erased it. The way over the fly, upper deck, aft deck, side deck to the bow is a pain.

And donīt overestimate the value of the flybridge! You will not be there on many occasions.

Regards
Richard

"drivers" side ? was my thinking as I was trying t work out the new interior today.

I like the access to the flying bridge but can imagine that tying off would be a pain if there were no more direct access to the deck

thanks for the tip on the flying bridge
I'm still debating the need

cheers
B

If she where mine I would install a wheel and throttle/clutch in the cockpit on the aft cabin bulkhead. On the Starboard side with T/C outboard so you can grab it from the dock. Docking by yourself in a wind/tide situation can be hairy.

If you get at all serious about fishing the cockpit controls will be vital. You'll also want an autopilot remote, gps, and depth sounder there if you want to fish dropoffs, banks, ledges and offshore pinnacles. Then you'll want a hardtop and full canvas on that cockpit as well, it always rains when the fish are biting......

Dam you do have some good ideas

OK then will have to include that in my list of plans
flying bridge was always optional anyway
I really like the idea of an aft cockpit pilot station

I'm definitely thinking fish

was a fly fishing guide in Yellowstone and also Rocky Mountain National Park for a while and loved it

thanks

I like to second TADīs comment on the second control station. Makes much more sense in the cockpit.

And YES, door at wheel position.

Richard

ya I'll keep the one pilot house door just aft the pilot chair and loose the other in favor of better seating

forget the stairs leading up to the flying bridge
loose the flying bridge but keep the access to it via ladder off the aft deck

Well I just acquired the Pine Isle 1 yesterday, see the pictures below. With refastening and re-caulking, some paint and cement, she'll be a fine liveaboard for someone. Good running 6-71, twin-disc manual gear, 600 gallons of fuel, 300 water, hydraulic anchor winch, 3 station hyd steering with Wagner pilot, interior is huge and empty, tops all fiberglassed, all for sale cheap........

Ok complete change of plan-pineisleportbow.jpg

I really like the paint job.

If i had a yacht I have it painted to look like a neglected 1920's tramp freighter
