| OC1 Strip plank Outrigger Canoe I am going to just put a glimpse of my project. I may have more to come, but I am thinking of redesigning it to have better surfing characteristics. Currently no sea trials and I am still working on the Ama. But I am sure this design will have great upwind and sprint characteristics. First couple show hull before and after epoxy. The last few show with deck and all varnished. I'll post some final pics when finished. Maybe I'll post some pics of process when I build the second one. Its all WRC except the stripe on the deck which was my parents old doorstep of a cottage on Puako Beach that I tore down when I build them a new home. -Bill |

| Oh, btw It is 21' long and about 14" wide and will flair out too 15-16" slightly where the seat will be to help accomodate a minicell foam seat. I am still looking at seating and leg hole options. Wether to leave hull open or enclose and make it fully sit-on-top style w/venturi drain etc.... In the really glared photo you can almost make out the iako holders that have been epoxied into place. Sorry they are all just phone pics. |
