Norcold is recalling boat and RV refrigerators that can catch fire. see http://www.norcoldrecall.com/
They are being sued ( a class action) by two law firms
    Zimmerman and Reed http://www.zimmreed.com/norcold-rv-refrigerator-fire/63879/
    and
    Seeger Weiss http://www.seegerweiss.com/news/norcold_refrigerator_lawsuit

A neighbor of mine may be involved in this. His frig died and when they pulled it out there was severe charring of the wood and insulation next to the coils. The technician who installed the new one told him about the lawsuit. Some units have caught fire and obviously Norcold knows about the problem.

    Just passing it on.

Fortunately it looks like not many boats will be affected as few boats have gas/12v fridges

I suspect that it would mostly be RVs but Some houseboats might have that kind of a setup.
