New Here Wanted to Show Off

Hey everyone great site I wish me and my friends found this site before we started building our boat, but were going to start again on a new one it's such a great hobby building boats so with out further ado here she is the......... H-1000. Not to bad for a bunch of highschoolers with a bunch of trial and error saturdays and a little desire. Doe's anyone else got some cheap boats we could build for around 300 dollars???
Thanks in Advance, Matt

Do you have a photo of it in the water thats the real test . You've got lots of weight at one end (Captains quarters ?) and a hull with the same section fore-n-aft, Will need trimmer ballast.

Looks like it was a fun project. Now you can move on to something with sails

H-1000? Does that mean it's a prototype? Is this Hull #1, or just a photo of your assembly line?

Yeah we've got it out on the water lots of times the weight was an issue but we got all our gear under the deck at the front then all 3 bunks are in the mid back so the weight is probably 40/60. Last time we took it out was at Pine View Resevoir camped for a few nights we plan to go down the labyrinth on the green river about 70 miles. We do have a little outboard motor I dont know how much HP maybe 2-4. I wish I had pictures of it out on the lake only video, but right now we only got the seems fiberglassed and we want to do the whole bottom anyone know where to buy some fiberglass for cheap we got a little 5 in wide strip probably 20 feet long for 75 bucks I thought we got ripped off but maybe it's just that expensive???

H-1000 is some dumb name we came up with in a tribute to the house we got all the wood to build it for.

if you want cheap fiberglass find some fiberglass manufatures or boat builders in your area and tell them what your doing, if your a good talker they might let you have there scrap fiberglass some shops throw out a lot of off cuts tell them u will clean up there mat cutting area for free if they will let u take the old glass home also see if the have a stockpile of old resin drums often theres a half gallon of resin still in them just turn them upside down and drain them

A suggestion. Add a couple of flotation boxes to the back of the hull. They should extend back from either side of the motor bracket. They can even bolt on after the boat is in the water. This will get you closer to 50/50 and if you put a tramp between them, some additional deck space.
