New guy with a project

I'm a Rhodie guy with a dream. I'm building a boat with a primary purpose of big water duck hunting, and a secondary of salt water striper fly fishing.
I made some drawings with the details worked out and am in the process of building a scale model.
The boat is going to be 18'6" LOA, 6'2" Beam at center.
Very low profile.
I'm lucky enough to know a couple of boat builders in Maine, but am hoping to get some help here as well.
I've been lurking here for some time and have seen the constructive suggestions given to other newbies.
I am a capable carpenter/cabinet maker, currently doing victorian restoration work. The Old/large houses I have been hammering on are rich with ship builders style of carpentry. Ever tried to steam bend kiln dried ceder clapboard for a round turret on a house? 68' radius 3 stories tall.
Steam bent mahogany 7 step cornice moldings. Round pane glass windows.
My nick name comes from my time in the Corps as a Force Recon Sniper, I'll get to the how some other time.
I am also a custom Rod builder learning from one of the best many years ago, a fly tier \ self taught , and a decoy carver.
I am more than willing to help others that are interested in what I can. share.
