| New Boat-Need Help To Complete Hi, I just aquired a 14' plywood boat that's 80-90% completed. I need info on finnishing it. Do I fiberglass the hull? It is "Stitch & Glue" constructed. I have no plans for the boat so I'm in the dark. Don't want to screw it up..so any info would help. Thanks. I've included a couple of pic links.. http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c4...Boat057062.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c4...oat0570610.jpg |

| Not sure? looks like maybe 1/4" thick. It' real light weight, 2 people can carry it. I feel I should fiberglass it? |

| Stitch-and-glue construction, almost by definition, involves a fibreglass sheathing. The hull is not watertight without the glass layer. Looking at the boat right now, I believe the next step would be to get some fibreglass and resin, and do the sheathing. Looking at the photos, I'd say she's more like 60% complete. Still quite doable, and will be a nice useful skiff when she's done.
