    daiquiri Engineering and Design

I think we have had a discussion few yrs ago, about the duality of the word "design" in english language...?

There is no duality: design is combined solution of aesthetic and engineering task. Designer answers the questions:
    - how it looks?
    - how it works?
    - how to produce it?

Styling deals with only aesthetic issues; stylist answers the question:
    - how it looks?

Then, there is rendering artist who knows the software... but this is another story.

Can You calculate this rudder? If no, what is the value of these drawings? :D

Sorry to say, but just be realistic - You make excellent renderings and drafting. Not design.

For a big boat design project , not a designer can be done . that is team work . Do you have experience of whole boat design for a big size boat ?

Actually I can't design electrical for big boat; rest of design I can do myself (need years!), maybe some parts not as perfect as narrow specialists.

Pls understand difference between draftsman and engineer. Engineer will draw and calculate himself; draftsman will only draw (and change 100 times before engineer is satisfied). So in second case it is slower and more expensive.

GA have not completed yet .It's a big job... all 2d lines should be take from the 3d model after the model completed .

Advice: don't do GA Yourself, let professional NA do it. It involves a bit of calculations, table of weights for example.

Do you have done anyboat GA before ? If no yet , I think you would like me interested in do some CAD exercise .

NA should define concept of layout, specifying where are structural bulkheads, watertight bulkheads, engine room, emergency exists etc. Also on such boat many furniture items are structural. If this is not considered, the layout drawn by draftsman has no value.

Interior design and GA development is not same; interior designer will only choose wallpaper and round corners of sofas...

(The last statement was a joke - our interior designer can set engine properly, evaluate weights and CG, trace cable trays :) )

Yes, very easy :D What is Your estimate of weight of furnishings on this boat? Where the tanks are?

Off course I never did :), but pls proceed with exercises Yourself.

You will get it, Leo - keep the dream alive!
Someday, when you get your gi together, you can fuse form and function to create floating art:
    rthe5y.jpg

A little refinement, and you might turn out a beauty like:
    untitledtrhrth.jpg

You'll be too old to appreciate but a legacy you will leave when you create a masterpiece nonpareil:
    untitledy4554r.jpg

Now, the sooner you get on Smart Alik's track to success in boat design, the sooner you can cultivate derivative, droop snoot, computer file marketing pleasure! Fair, sweet lines? "Old-timey" concepts like aesthetics? Who needs 'em?
Just go for it and stop looking at what you draw - this is the one true path to the élan vital that will sell boats.

(Beautiful boat, Leo - a little constructive critisism: I wouldn't take up the space to put a stairwell up top and I think the design, overall, is a little busy. But very nice. I don't like cats, personally, but you did a nice job. Drawing boats is a wonderful way to design. Afterall, if the thing does not look good, what have you got but a thing that floats?)
