    Looking for a picture…

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Does anyone have or know of where I can get a picture of a boat from underwater on plane the faster the better.

I’m interested in the hydrodynamics of the spray and water leaving the surfaces from under water looking up. As if a scuba diver took it looking up.

Any boat will do, V hull or Cat it does not matter.

Come on all you computer junkies, help me out here…

    Thanks in advance.

Will an underwater tank test shot help?

Google, Pressure distribution on planing hulls and there will be quite a few technical papers that show what you are looking for, many in test tanks. Even better is that with the pressure distribution, you can see where most of the lift is generated

    Good old Sea Hunt.

We only had Black and White TV in those days so shows like Sea Hunt and Adventures in Paradise were in Black and White and would have looked brilliant in colour but now we have colour TV, the TV shows are mainly filmed in one or two rooms.

I'm puzzled as to what might be learnt from such an underwater view.

Well, thanks for the 11 year old response ha ha… And Merry Christmas to everybody, as for what could be learned, you can check out on the website www.tuffmarine.com we have long since built the 28 footer. And pretty proud to say that it's probably a contender for the single engine V hull world record at 120 mph. Specifically, what I was interested in was how water separated away from a chine or a pad. Clearly, we knew that the straighter and sharper the edge, the cleaner the separation would be and the less the wetted surface would be, Thus less drag. Anyway here are some fun details 28 foot boat full vacuum bag carbon fiber layup 725 hp Ilmore V 10 119.5 mph

Funny, where I work the term "Lloyd" is used for an uncool person, not because Lloyd Bridges was uncool but because he was in the "show";)
