Yes, it does. Also grass, snow, mud, water, marsh... If you look at the first photo, you'll see the wheels are off the ground.

Air was blown into the center forming an air cushion. You can see the compressors for the ACLS on the side of the fuselage. There were also perforations on the bottom of the inflated trunk to help air-lubricate it.
