    You may want to consider adding a chine and have a slight vee bottom. I just know that flat bottoms are terrible at slamming in waves. It shouldn't be too much work to make the boat have a vee bottom and the benefits will be huge. Vee bottom will also help in handling as it will help the boat hold its direction.
